The Harbour

There's lots to see in the Amsterdam harbour area and it's docklands. In the eastern part you will still see the remnants of an until the fifties of the past century flourishing harbour industry. The area is now urbanised and offers modern, interesting architecture. Landmarks are already the music center 'Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ' and the terminal for large cruise ships PTA. With the harbour industry pretty much having moved out of the city towards IJmuiden, the western part of the harbour, within city limits, that is, is also being urbanised now. You will however still experience much of the industrial heritage. Around several small islands such as the 'Prinseneiland' you will see a mixture of small water related-businesses.
We will be glad to take you out on our sturdy 'Wolk', onto the IJ and Noordzeekanaal and show you around.
